You need an active demat and trading account to apply. You can open one through Wethonic, online.

    Read the offer document

Review the company’s business, financials, price band and risk factors before you bid.

    Bid with UPI

Enter your bid and approve the UPI mandate. The retail category covers bids up to ₹2 lakh.

How it works at Wethonic

You need an active demat and trading account. Open one through Wethonic and Angel One, then use the IPO section to see open and upcoming issues, with price band, lot size and dates. Bid with your UPI ID, approve the mandate in your UPI app and wait for allotment. If you are allotted shares, they are credited to your demat account. If not, the blocked amount is released.

Read before you bid

Every IPO comes with an offer document that sets out the business, financials, objects of the issue and risk factors. Read it. Look at the company’s fundamentals, the valuation and the price band, not just the buzz around the issue.

What to keep in mind

  • Allotment is not certain. Oversubscribed issues are allotted by lottery.
  • Listing prices can be higher or lower than the issue price.
  • The retail category covers bids up to ₹2 lakh.
  • An IPO is one part of a portfolio, not a plan on its own.

How do I apply for an IPO through Wethonic?
You need a demat and trading account. Apply from your dashboard using your UPI ID and approve the mandate request in your UPI app. The whole process is online and paperless.
Can I view allotment status?
Yes. You can check your allotment status online and receive notifications. If you are not allotted shares, the blocked amount is released to you.
Will Wethonic tell me which IPOs to apply for?
No. Wethonic does not tell you which IPOs to buy. The platform shares company information, offer documents and risk disclosures, and Angel One’s research team publishes research-based insights on major issues. You decide whether to apply.
Will I definitely get shares if I apply?
No. When an issue is oversubscribed, allotment is made by lottery and many applicants receive none. Applying does not ensure an allotment, and a listing does not ensure a gain.
What happens to my money while I wait?
With UPI and ASBA, the bid amount is blocked in your bank account, not debited. It is debited only for shares allotted to you, and the rest is released.
